End of the First Day

Ok I had to have my picture of him on the first day of 4th grade. No one would know it was at the end of the first day. He loves his teacher and has a lot of friends in his class from last year. Now we are on to the homework and then basketball practice.

First Day of 4th Grade

I was all ready to take Austin to school this morning and had it all planned out. Get him up and get a good breakfast in him and make sure he had everything in order. And get the "off to 4th grade picture". As we are on our way to school I remembered I forgot to get the picture and he wasn't in for a photo at school. He didn't even want me to get out of the car. I told him if he wanted money on his lunch account, I needed to get out. My baby is growing up so fast. Since he is my only child it seems like every milestone is so bitter-sweet. I am so pleased to see the little man he is becoming. But it also saddens me to see him grow up so rapidly. Where does the time go. This morning he was so concerned about his hair sticking up in one place, he even asked if we could stop and get it cut on the way. I explained there was no time for that so he wore a hat on the way to flatten it. And then the outfit. He had a certain look picked out. He has always been that way. Always wanting to be trendy. I know he will have a great day. And he has a wonderful teacher. But I can not help wondering where the time has gone.

No Photos Please!

They were headed off to the skatepark. And were not to excited about taking a picture. All in all a good pose. The skatepark was located under a boardwalk right on the beach. Really cool! I do not have any pictures of the skatepark, as i was informed there were no moms allowed. He couldn't believe I was even thinking about going up and getting some pictures. But I do know they had a lot of fun.

Riding In Style

We loved cruising our new ride. Jason was excited about the rims. After we would get back from the beach he would wash it every day. And polish it up. Too funny! Any of you who know him, understand the obsession to keep it clean. He loves a clean, cool ride.

Austin and Friends

We went on our trip with some friends. This is a picture of the boys. Austin, Tyler, and Josh. They had a lot of fun hanging out together boogie boarding, digging up the beach, and skate boarding. I find myself wishing we were back at the beach relaxing and just enjoying the day. Not worrying about what time it is or any other daily routines. That is what was the most fun. Wake up whenever, eat when your hungry, and having no sense of time. We can not wait to go back!

How High Will It Go?

Jason was set on flying a kite on the beach. He was able to get it up about 800 feet and it flew almost the entire day. It was so high it looked like a speck in the sky.

Boogie Boarding

Most of the day was spent riding the waves on his boogie board. He could not get enough. he would get out and catch a snack and it was like the ocean kept calling him back.

Did Someone Say We Could Dig to China?

Sand everywhere! Where to dig first. The fun part was there were no limits on where or what to do. Just get out there and enjoy!

He's Up!

He is up on his knees catching a wave. It was alot harder to stand. But he kept trying. I think he was just happy to be on the board and riding a wave. Practice makes perfect. He will need to keep trying and he'll have it.

Billabong Surf Camp

Austin was up bright and early for surf camp. He is on the end in blue trunks. This was a lessons out of the water on how to get up on your board and to practice your stance. he was the youngest one in the class. But did well keeping up with the older ones.

Love'n the Beach

Austin loved the beach. We spent everyday down on the beach except Wednesday, due to rain. He loved boogie boarding and digging endlessly in the sand. We stayed at Ocean Lakes in a rental home with some friends. This was our first family beach vacation. We will surely be going back next year. It was so relaxing. I think next year we plan to camp. They have a campground, rental homes, and lots of activities on site. Everyone drives a golf cart to get around. That was a lot of fun in it self. Now I want a golf cart for our camping trips. That is another story. I had a lot of fun just relaxing on the beach and watching Austin truly in his element! Anything to do with water. He should of been an Aquarius..

With the Big Boys

Austin started basketball camp this afternoon. He is the youngest one there. The camp is mainly for the middle school kids. There is only two more kids his age and the rest of them are big kids. I mean some are twice as tall as he is. He was so proud when the coach told them not to take it easy on him, that he could carry his own and to treat him like an equal. He did a great job! The drills are difficult, and he was able to do them with precision. After B-Ball camp he was off to bible school at a friends church. GramGram is off to Pennsylvania this week to visit Aunt Sandy. We sure do miss her. We hope she is having fun. And travels safely.

Saturday's Wild Party-Happy Birthday Tyler

Saturday afternoon we went to the movies to see the Mummy. It was really good, with alot of action. Austin loved it. Then he was off to Tyler's party at his dad's. Man that was a "WILD" party. They had a blast! Swinging on the rope swing, then off to the pool. Totally wild! Fourteen boys in the pool. Playing "Battle Royal" and "Chicken". After that they had pizza, cake and ice cream. It was dark by then and they were off to play "Capture the Flag". Another wild time. The cones were set up at each end with flashlights in them. And the flags are placed on each teams cone. You have two teams and they try to capture the other teams flag. Good thing Austin was dressed in all black. That helped him in stealth mode. The grass was wet from a previous rain. And they were having a blast trying to get the flags. Army crawling, sneaking up from behind and other planned attacks. They played this until 12:30 at night. Whew, what a great party for boys! Happy Birthday Tyler!! Hard to believe he is already 11. Time flies by and they grow up so fast.

Thusday-Friday Happenings

Thursday we went shopping for some items needed for our up coming beach trip and for a birthday gift for Austin's friend Tyler. Not to exciting, but necessary. Then for the evening we were invited over to a friends for dinner. Friday we were up early to take GramGram to the airport to pick-up her rental car and she was off to Pennsylvania to visit Aunt Sandy. We wanted to go ,but she is not returning till the day before we leave for the beach. So we opted to stay and prepare for our trip. Then we were invited over to Tyler's with his mom for cake and ice cream. After that we watched 21. Another good movie.

Pool Fun

Wednesday Happenings 2

Wednesday started out early with golf lessons. Then back home to work in the house. About noon we were invited over to a friends pool for an afternoon of swimming. The kids had a blast cooling off. It was 98 degrees and humid. That evening we invited some friends over for dinner and to play the WII. They had fun bowling and golfing.
